In the role of Safety Manager, you will become an integral part of our projects and engineering team, dedicating your expertise to our innovative ammonia initiatives.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of an integrated HSEQ function within Azane, ensuring compliance with national and international safety standards
- Participate actively in all project phases for ammonia handling solutions, from conceptual design through to operational deployment
- Coordinate and manage the safety approval and permitting processes for ammonia bunkering projects, liaising with regulatory bodies and stakeholders
- Conduct and oversee safety and risk assessments, audits, and evaluations, both internally and with external partners, to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies
- Manage and execute internal and external studies and development projects related to ammonia fuel handling and bunkering infrastructure
- Prepare technical documentation, drawings, work processes, and tender support materials. Conduct early feasibility studies and safety training for crew and operational staff
- Foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across the organization, promoting awareness and adherence to safety protocols
Qualifications
- A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as HSEQ/risk management, marine/process technology, or equivalent. Extensive experience in related areas may also be considered
- Proven background in marine, gas shipping (ammonia, LPG, LNG), or process safety is highly desirable
- Experience in HSEQ and risk management, particularly with hazardous substances like ammonia, LPG, LNG
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software is advantageous
Personal skills
- A strong commitment to and interest in green fuels, ship, and process technology
- A safety-first mindset with a reliable and structured approach to work
- Solution-oriented with the ability to identify and implement effective safety measures
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Knowledge of the Norwegian language is a plus
