Design Engineer

Together with us, you will be working with development and delivery of advanced measurement solutions to manufacturers and users of airborne and land-based defense applications. Some travel is expected to clients’ production facilities and bases.

Since 2006, Boresight and Alignment Solutions have delivered highly accurate boresight and alignment systems to large manufacturers such as: Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, Korea Aerospace Industries and Kongsberg Defense and Aerospace. The deliverable technology is based on in-house inventions and development.

As the battlefield becomes ever more sophisticated and more dependent on high-tech units and sensors, the need for accurate alignment increases. The Harmolign boresight system is a unique measurement system that can be adapted to provide quick and accurate alignment of all sensors and weapons of a vehicle or aircraft. At the core, the system’s technology is based on electro-optics and photogrammetry.

Across the Metronor Group, the core photogrammetric technology has been developed into a variety of product versions, addressing the highest degree of accuracy requirements.

II. THE POSITION

BACKGROUND:

Boresight and Alignment Solutions AS is seeking a Design Engineer.

The engineer will take part in the development of the company’s hardware applications.

Workplace will be Asker, Norway.

Main tasks:

·      Become the product owner of the hardware deliverables

·      Create 3D models and drawings with SolidWorks

·      Responsible for hardware engineering and design

·      Boresight concept design

·      Create, maintain and update bill of materials

·      Continuous improvements on current design

·      Find new creative design solutions to new challenges

·      Ensure design compliance to Military standards

·      Participate in client design review and final acceptance tests

III. CANDIDATE PROFILE

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

·      Good English communication skills, both oral and written.

EDUCATION:

·      Bachelor or higher educational degree in Engineering, preferably within mechanical, civil or similar engineering.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Working experience in SolidWorks
• GD&T
• The candidate must be eligible to obtain a security clearance

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

·       Knowledge of CNC/CMM programing

·       Electronics background
