Aibel Group, a leader within the energy sector, is seeking a dedicated Head of Compliance in Oslo or Stavanger.
About the position
This role is pivotal in ensuring the company's adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
The Head of Compliance will be instrumental in shaping and overseeing Aibel’s corporate compliance program, including Aibel’s Code of Conduct, and aligning it with the industry's best practices.
Responsibilities and tasks include:
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure Aibel's operations comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Policy Development and Implementation: Develop, enforce and maintain robust compliance policies and procedures, ensuring they are integrated into all aspects of the organization
- Risk Management: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential compliance risks, and developing and implementing effective mitigation strategies
- Training and Awareness: Create and deliver comprehensive compliance training and awareness programs tailored to the unique needs of Aibel's diverse workforce
- Incident Management: Lead the response to compliance incidents, overseeing investigations, and ensuring effective resolution. Implement strategies for rapid response to potential compliance breaches
- Audit and Reporting: Manage external compliance audits. Prepare compliance reports to senior management and the Board of Directors as applicable, highlighting risks, achievements, and areas for improvement
- Data Protection: Oversee adherence to applicable data protection laws and regulations, and ensuring robust data security practices, policies and procedures
- Transparency Act: Oversee adherence to applicable laws and regulations, and ensuring robust practices, policies and procedures
- Third-Party Compliance: Ensure compliance of third-party vendors and partners, focusing on data handling, human rights, environmental standards, and safety practices
- Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and update compliance practices to reflect changing regulations, technological advancements, and organizational needs
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with the business units and relevant departments, to foster a cohesive and proactive compliance culture
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proven experience in a compliance role, with a preference for experience in the energy, environmental, or technology sectors
- Strong understanding of legal compliance, particularly in areas relevant to the energy sector and international operations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of training and influencing a diverse team
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- Experience in conducting compliance risk assessments and managing audits in the energy or related sectors
- Familiarity with the dynamics of the energy sector, including renewable energy, oil and gas, and environmental impact considerations
