Job Description

Business Area International (BA I) is responsible for development, operation and ownership of hydro, wind and solar assets in countries outside Europe. Today we are present in Brazil, Chile, Peru, Türkiye, India and Nepal. 

For the role of VP Sustainability & HSS for BA I, we are looking for a seasoned leader with experience from managing staff functions and delivering results to top level management. In this role, you will act as BA I responsible for sustainability (environment, social, human rights) and HSS and be the primary point of contact between the business and corporate functions.  

The position reports to SVP Business Support and Portfolio Management for BA I, and you will be a part of the BA I Business Support and Portfolio Management management team. 

The position has the following responsibilities: 

• Represent and lead BA I on sustainability & HSS.  
• Lead a small team of experienced professionals and ensure their safety, well-being, and development. 
• Lead and support the country teams in shaping and executing sustainability and HSS strategies 
• Establish clear strategies and plans for sustainability and HSS in BA I, in close cooperation with management and corporate functions. 
• Provide proactive and strategic sustainability and HSS advisory to the EVP and I Management Team on risks, plans and performance.  
• Ensure sustainability and HSS integration in relevant business procedures and plans. Monitor performance and KPIs for the BA. 
• External representation of Statkraft in national and international events, including working with Corporate Communication on responding to inquiries and from NGOs and other external parties  
• Involvement in projects on short-term and long-term basis depending on needs and project complexity 
• Oversee security governance – integrate security and emergency response in BA processes and plans.  

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading staff functions and delivering support to top level management and business units; preferably from large or medium-sized, matrix-organized international companies. 
• Strong business understanding, process and project management skills 
• Solid experience from sustainability and HSS 
• Higher relevant education in technical, business, environmental or social fields 
• Strong communication skills in English. Spanish/Portuguese would be an advantage
