Who we’re after
In order to provide first-class technical support to our Claims Department, as well as being an ambassador for The Club when meeting a diverse range of external parties, we’re looking for a technically competent person with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ideally, you possess solid, relevant experience that you can draw upon in order to deliver superior technical support and advice, as well as conduct surveys and issue survey reports.
Our preferred candidate will also:

• Be objective, with an analytic and structured mindset
• Be open, with high standards of integrity
• Be a team player who can work independently when required
Given the international nature of our business, travel is to be expected with this position. Candidates should also possess a strong command of English, both verbal and written. A willingness to learn Norwegian (if this is not your first language) will be considered an advantage.
Preferred qualifications and experience
• Relevant technical education to a recognised standard (relevant experience will be taken into account)
• Solid, practical professional experience from the shipping / offshore industry
• Professional competence with digital tools, and a desire to actively use and develop new technology within The Club to increase its service offering
• Knowledge of international marine insurance is desirable but not essential.
Main responsibilities and tasks will include:
1) Marine Survey / technical support
• Providing technical knowledge and competence at Norwegian Hull Club
• Ensuring technical support / advisory is available, primarily to Claims Handlers
but also to Underwriters and the Assured
• Conducting or assisting with surveys and survey reporting, co-operating with the
assigned Claims Handler and Adjuster and / or the appointed Surveyor and specialist
• Assisting Owners, Surveyors and Claims Handlers with The Club’s “Claim Statement”
• Supporting on Loss of Hire claims; actively focusing on the potential of reducing duration of repairs
• Contributing with knowledge sharing / experience transfer - technical loss prevention.
2) Specification and tendering
• Supporting Owners with, or preparing / producing damage specifications and participating in the tendering process for significant damages
• Providing assistance with general condition of tendering and contract proposals
• Participating in invoice negotiations at the completion of repairs.
3) Survey network and specialists
• Evaluating and developing The Club’s network of Surveyors and specialists.
4) Projects
• As a part of the Claims Department in Norwegian Hull Club, you will participate in
the continuous development of the company’s services and products, including the
increased degree of automatization and digitalization.
