The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Shearwater’s Technology and Innovation Center as a procurement specialist/buyer in a manufacturing environment for a period of 12 months. The role is linked to a project for internal assembly of prototypes/early production series, which has created a need for a person to take charge of procurement of parts for the assembly line, as well as tracking of inventory of parts.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working together to deliver actual products to the field.
The position is based in the Shearwater Technology and Innovation Centre in Høvik, Norway, approximately 15 minutes away from Oslo City Centre. We are co-located with DNV in a beautiful campus next to the sea, with onsite canteen, gym facilities, tennis court and kayak rental, as well as numerous sport clubs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify reliable manufacturers or distributors for standard components
- Take charge of generating purchase orders and keeping track of deliveries, ensuring that everything arrives on time and in good quality
- Update our inventory list and add orders to the system or pass along information to the requestor
- Collaborate with team members to figure out the amount of stock levels, making orders based on lead time and inventory level
- Utilize our in-house software to efficiently organize shipments to external locations
Experience
- Experience with procurement and shipment of parts, ideally within oil and gas industry or similar
- Good working knowledge of general Microsoft office tools, including experience with creating simple tables in Excel for overview/tracking
- Experience with interacting and follow up with suppliers
- Beneficial with technical and/or commercial background, and contract or documentation work

- Excellent organizational, planning and reporting skills
- Self-starter with strong focus on delivery
- Great communication skills in English, written and oral
- Beneficial with negotiation abilities
