NOV Oslo is seeking a Senior E&I Engineer, capable of being Discipline Leads in projects. Permanent positions based in Fornebu. Main focus on Instrumentation, Electrical. Candidates with 3D modelling experience of electrical and instrumentation equipment have a strong advantage. Candidates with experience and knowledge of Telecom, Fire and Gas, Control systems also will have an advantage

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The main objective is to contribute to efficient project execution, selection of E & I systems and equipment and support other disciplines in their interdisciplinary deliverables/ tasks.
• Assist the project team to achieve project goals in order to meet the client needs within the project cost and timeline.

The tasks typically include:

• Review bid documentation and give input to tender team regarding pricing, scope and planning.
• Review of Client specifications, requirements and project scope
• Establish Control Philosophy together with assistance from Process group
• Communicate with Process group regarding tagging, control and instrumentation related to the P&ID’s.
• Develop and keep track of Instrument Index.
• Establish Automation system (DCS, PLC, etc) specification and IO requirements
• Determine IO count, single line diagram and specification for Automation system
• Develop and maintain other deliverables like, Power Consumption list, Interconnection Diagrams,
• Instrument Datasheets, Functional Logic Description etc.
• Technical input to Procurement group and evaluation of RFQ’s

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor degree (as a minimum) in a relevant engineering discipline such as: Electronics, Electrical, Control Systems, Telecom, Automation.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably from oilfield services or similar industry
• A strong advantage: proven and fluent command of 3D modelling of electrical, instrumentation, telecom, fire and gas equipment (AVEVA E3D / PDMS)

SKILLS, TRAINING OR SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE:

• Knowledge of installations in Hazardous Areas, IECEx, ATEX
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and design codes like; API, ISO, IEC, ATEX, NORSOK etc.
• Knowledge in design of electrical small power distribution, lighting, heat tracing,
• Knowledge in design of field instrumentation, F&G, Telecom
• Field experience is an advantage.
• Fluent in English language, both written and spoken.
• Knowledge of the Norwegian language is an advantage
