What is the job about?
As a Service Sales Development Manager, Water Utility, you will develop and maintain a strategy for Service and Aftermarket sales in the Area, which aims to improve our overall competitiveness in the market and ensure sales growth and increased profitability from spare parts and service offerings. You will build all needed capability, internal alignment, sales tools, and marketing material to enable a successful sales effort by the full sales team and our partner network.
Your main responsibilities:
Spare Parts
- Ensuring pricing is competitive, profitable, logical, and available.
- Monitoring spare parts availability and taking corrective action if needed.
- Identifying and driving cross-selling opportunities.
- Training CSSC and partners on how to select spare parts.
- Following up and reporting on sales and profitability performance for spare parts.
Service Partners
- Identifying and evaluating new potential Service Partners in corporation with External Sales and Service Delivery to ensure adequate geographical coverage and promote partner-based sales.
- Facilitating Service Partner certification and training in collaboration with Service Delivery.
- Developing and implementing marketing programs aimed at accelerating sales of products and services through Service Partners, in close collaboration with regional marketing.
Service Offerings
- Defining service offerings needed to compete in the market for the supply of pumps and solutions in our strategic scope for the Area.
- Defining service offerings that can differentiate Grundfos, bringing us closer to customers and representing a profit opportunity in the Area.
- Developing the sales material, pricing models, part numbers, and training programs that are needed to sell service offerings in the Area.
- Aligning with Service Delivery on capability, coverage, and service levels needed to implement our business model in alignment with customer expectations and competitive dynamics of the market.
- Supporting or driving bids for larger Service Opportunities e.g., frameworks or tenders for Service Contracts.
- Collaborating with business development on evaluating and potentially implementing new service offerings in the Area.
- Collaborating with the Digital sales team on deploying digital offerings in the Area and ensuring a robust process for follow-up on leads for digital sales opportunities.
- Monitoring and following up on SLA and KPIs for Service Delivery in the Area.
- Following up and reporting on pipeline, order intake, sales, and profitability for SOFFE.
Customer Care
- Define needed services and service levels required to ensure basic customer care is at a high level, including but not limited to Warranty and returns handling; Lead time on basic service offerings; Troubleshooting capability and responsiveness; Claims / Complaint management.
Your background
We imagine that you have:
- Master’s degree in business or engineering combined with at least 6-7 years of relevant experience, typically from a large international equipment manufacturer.
- Experience in developing and deploying strategy, with a hands-on approach.
- Experience in the water utility sector, working in a commercial role.
- Positive personality with a preference for initiating action independently.
- Extensive stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced negotiation skills.
- Solid Business Acumen and basic financial capabilities.
- Ability to work both strategically but also hands-on in deployment.
- Structured and analytical approach to planning.
