Business Controller

We are looking for extraordinary individuals to join us on our mission to digitalize these industries, and to support our growth we are looking for a Finance Controller. The open position is within our Maritime Simulation business unit, headquartered in Horten, Norway. The unit consists of approx. 200 employees working with market-leading simulation technology used for training and research in the maritime-, offshore- and defence industries worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Assist management in finding ways and strategies to improve business performance, especially but not limited to earnings, efficiency and control.
• Improve and maintain systems for monitoring and reporting business performance.
• Manage the controlling team for Maritime Simulation.
• Challenge and be sparring partner to managers. Ensure early detection of unwanted risks and suggest mitigations.
• Business risk, contingencies, and opportunities analysis.
• Responsible for monitoring and control of actual cost and revenues against budget and current estimates.
• Responsible for monthly project and portfolio reporting.
• Assist in financial planning processes, budgets and forecasts.
• Further develop and optimize the existing reports, systems, and routines for controlling, and overall contribution to best practices deployment.

Required skills and qualifications

• Master´s degree within Finance, Accounting and/or Auditing
• Have minimum 3 years relevant experience from working in a Big Four audit company and/or a larger global organization.
• Interest and knowledge for topics within business, business improvement, analysis, reports, financial reporting.
• Interest in leading and developing people, and creating successful teams
• Good communication skills, orally and written, in both Norwegian and English is a prerequisite.
