DNV’s section for Fire Safety & Life-Saving is looking for a plan approval engineer to join our section, in Hamburg or at Høvik. The Fire Safety & Life-Saving Plan Approval section is part of the Approval Centre in DNV Maritime Ship Classification. The Approval Centre is approving ship newbuildings and conversions to ensure that they comply with international requirements, for all relevant technical disciplines. In addition, approval of components and equipment placed onboard is carried out here. The Approval Centre also has an important role in developing applicable requirements.

Another new focus area is fire safety requirements for autonomous vessels. As we are responsible for the technical content of DNV’s governing documents for fire safety and life-saving (e.g. class rules) we develop new and existing requirements continuously. This is done in cooperation with other technical disciplines internally, with flag administrations and other contributors in the maritime industry. The rule development work provides our section with deep insight into DNV rules and class notations, different maritime codes and international industry standards and regulations.

As a member of this community, you work in a professional, competent and service oriented environment with great possibilities to enhance your personal competencies and expertise.
