NOV Rig Equipment is seeking an experienced Manager – Pipehandling Automation. Are you ready to achieve results through leading and coaching others? Are you structured with a well-developed sense of strategic planning? Do you have a large work capacity and ability to execute towards goals?
We are looking for a new manager for our Pipehandling Automation department, located in Kristiansand, which is a part of Rig Technologies’ Digital Products & Automation (DP&A) organization. Pipehandling Automations’ main responsibilities are to
- Develop new value through products and solutions focused on pipe deck and drill floor
- Execute projects and deliveries towards our customers
As manager for the department, you will be responsible for day-to-day management and organizing of the department. This will include being a resource person for employees and staying updated on the departments’ subject matters and technologies. You will also be responsible for creating and executing on department goals in addition to partaking in strategic planning within the Automation Technology team.
The team has employees in other locations in Norway and some travel must be expected, both domestic and foreign.
Work tasks will include:
- Personnel responsibility and personal follow-up of employees
- Giving direction to, motivating, and inspiring employees
- Create plans to grow team and individual competency
- Create and follow-up department budgets
- Manage department resource coordination, prioritization, and planning
- Create department goals with connection to DP&A organization goals
- Evaluate ways of working and relevant technologies for the department with focus on reducing cost and improving team efficiency
- Other tasks given
Your qualities include:
- Ability to build good teams and team spirit
- Managing multiple and hectic situations in a calm and good manner
- Ability to see the larger picture
- Ability to cooperate and collaborate with others
- A genuine interest for automation and software development
Required qualifications include:
- Experience and knowledge of automation
- Experience managing technical teams (preferably software teams)
- Knowledge about NOV processes, products, and solutions
- Good oral and written English and Norwegian communication skills
