We are currently seeking: 

Head of Newbuilding

BW LNG is looking for a highly motivated Head of Newbuilding. The position will have overall responsibility for project management of newbuilding projects to ensure that the project is executed in accordance with the shipbuilding contract and the technical specification. The position is part of Fleet Management Leader Team.

Responsibilities:

• Designate project manager for newbuilding projects
• Preparation and follow up of newbuilding mandate and budgets
• Drawing approval in accordance with technical specifications and otherwise as deemed required by the company
• Maker selection in accordance with technical specifications
• Ensure Quality of the delivered vessel meets with technical specifications
• Regular reporting of project status to stakeholders
• Setting up and manning the site team and ensuring the team is performing to expectations
• Being contact point between the organization and the shipyard
• Ensuring that guarantee claims are handled and settled appropriately in collaboration with the Fleet Management team
• Stay updated on technical development from the industry and regulations within marine technology
• Responsible for keeping the department software tools updated and fit for need
• Participate in external industry forums as deemed necessary

Qualifications: 

• Master’s degree, preferably in Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 10 years relevant work experience, preferably in the Maritime industry
• Good understanding of ship design and ship systems
• Leadership experience will be an advantage
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• Hold a permanent residence permit for work purposes in Norway
