Electrical Engineer

Saipem Norge AS is looking for an Electrical Engineer to be part of our Technical Asset department in our office in Forus, Stavanger

The Electrical Engineer shall have completed an education in a Technical Professional School in electrical engineering or similar and shall have been subject to all necessary practical and theoretical training related to both low and high voltage electrical equipment on offshore installations.

As part of the responsibility of the position is the role as Electrical Responsible Person (ERP). For the role as ERP it is preferred that the candidate fulfills the requirements in FEK §5: “The person who has the professional responsibility for work related to electrical installations must have a relevant master's or bachelor's degree or two years' education as an electrical technician with a relevant certificate. In addition, the person must have at least three years of relevant work experience gained after graduation”.

It is desirable that the Electrical Engineer should be qualified by DSB (The Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection) for the authorization as “Installatør” especially for the role as ERP.

The Electrical Engineer shall be able to communicate both written and verbally in Norwegian and English.

These are some of the tasks that will be part of the position;

• To ensure that the electrical installations on the rigs are of the required standard and always comply with relevant regulatory requirements.
• To be updated on new and revised regulatory requirements.
• To be informed about, and participate as required, in any planning and installation of new electrical equipment on board the rigs.
• To provide daily assistance to the rigs for issues related to the electrical and Instrument disciplines.
• As Electrical Engineer they have the responsibility to ensure that the personnel working offshore with electrical installations on Saipem Drillings Rigs on the Norwegian Continental Shelf are of the required standard and have the competence required to conduct work on the electrical installations.
