OKEA is focusing a major part of the exploration activity around existing hubs and is a key player in areas around own operated hubs. OKEA is growing as a company, and exploration focus areas are also evolving. Therefore, OKEA seek to further strengthen the subsurface team and is currently looking for a Lead Exploration Geophysicist.
Level dependent on candidate’s experience and actual position to be filled.
OKEAs subsurface exploration team is primarily located in Trondheim.
The position reports to VP Exploration.

Tasks
- Contribute actively within OKEAs exploration team and OKEAs subsurface team
- The Lead Exploration Geophysicist position is primarily a technical position with main tasks as listed below:
- Responsibility for performing and/or follow-up of quantitative geophysical analyses (Rock physics, data conditioning, acoustic and elastic well ties, lithology and fluid prediction, etc)
- Planning and follow-up of seismic purchase and reprocessing projects
- Seismic data quality assessments and improvements
- Contribute with analyses and assessment of prospects including risking of hydrocarbon presence
- Follow-up of OKEA and partner operated exploration licenses and perform technical tasks related to license maturation
- Responsibility for performing and/or follow-up of quantitative geophysical analyses (Rock physics, data conditioning, acoustic and elastic well ties, lithology and fluid prediction, etc)
- Keep an overview of OKEA exploration geophysical competencies and databases
- Additional geoscience tasks/responsibilities are likely to be assigned to any subsurface employee in OKEA, e.g. development projects, activities related to subsurface quality management and BD-activities
Qualifications
- MSc in geoscience related subject
- Experience from project work or license committee work on NCS is an advantage
- Good communication skills in Norwegian and English, both written and oral
- Commercial understanding and solution-driven attitude
- Like to work in teams
