Technical Instructor, Electro-Technical/Automation

NOV’s training centre in Stavanger is looking for course instructor for both customer and internal training within the categories Electro technical subjects (PLC, Instrumentation, Control Systems, Automation etc.). As a NOV instructor you will be part of an international technical environment serving customers worldwide. Our main activities are conducted in our facilities located at Forus Stavanger, which includes drilling simulators and other hands-on equipment. We also provide training offshore, on -site and on other NOV training centers abroad. You will teach course participants with different backgrounds and nationalities. As an instructor in NOV you will be exposed to many of NOV’s new products and be able to stay updated on the newest technology.

Main tasks will be: 

Teaching both customer and internal employees in classroom, simulator, hands-on workshop and onboard rigs

Develop and improve course material according to NOV standard

Develop and maintain hands-on training equipment solutions

Develop course material and acquire knowledge on new products ready for the market

Preferred qualifications:

Technical and/or Engineering education

Instructional / technical experience of Drilling Equipment and Automation Systems

Soft skills: 

Good communication skills

Organized and structured

Excellent English written and oral

Flexible in regard to offshore and onshore travel

Computer skills

We wish to hire positive and contributing co-workers. Knowledge of our business sector is an advantage. Good communication and English skills are prerequisites. Relevant background in Electrical/Automation discipline within the offshore segment and/or other industries. Travel must be anticipated. There will be possibilities for competence building by participating in project work, courses, field work and service jobs.
