NOV Downhole is a division in the NOV family. On Forus, Stavanger we run one of Europe’s service centers where our main focus is Repair and Maintenance of drilling tools for offshore use on the Continental shelf. Our department is constantly developing and we are experiencing an increase in the workload.  

As Workshop Assistant in NOV Downhole your primary role is to assist the service team and provide support with general workshop duties.

At NOV, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) is at the forefront of everything we do. This role has a range of tasks involves taking responsibility for understanding and conforming to PPE, Quality and HSE Policies. All service/workshop related personnel have direct responsibility for workshop and yard housekeeping and should be proactive in maintaining a clean and organized workplace.

The Workshop Assistant role requires extensive use of workshop and lifting equipment and is an integral role within the service team to ensure efficient maintenance and timely mobilization of tools.

You will:

• Assist Service Technicians where required during tool service process
• General workshop duties including washing, cleaning and preparing of tools for NDT Inspection. Painting of tools to prepare for dispatch
• Assist with goods in-out to load/unload trucks and pack and un-pack cargo baskets, inventory and rework shipments
• Extensive safe and efficient use of all workshop service and lifting equipment following all applicable risk assessments and JSA’s.
• Responsible for maintaining a high standard of housekeeping and participating in preventive maintenance system to ensure workshop equipment checks are completed
• Demonstrate a personal commitment to Quality, Health, Safety and adhere to company’s and customers QHSE standards at all times.

You will have:

• Education at high school level
• Previous experience in a similar job role is preferable.
• Forklift licenses (T4, T5, T8)
• Crane license (G4)
• Computer literacy including good knowledge of Microsoft application
• Good communication skills - both English and Norwegian
• Service minded and able to work independently and structured in a high pace environment
