Business Intelligence Analyst

Our Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse team is looking to add a Business Intelligence Analyst to the team.

You will join a well-functioning setup that is keen to take Gard to the next level of data insights. To succeed in this position both business knowledge and data analytics skills are important. However, we do not expect you to have both and will teach you the missing parts.

Using data insights to support our corporate decisions is important to us. To succeed in this, we have moved our data warehouse to Azure, using Azure Fabric for ETL and Power BI as presentation layer with the organization using Power BI to build reports. Various teams in the organization use both R and Python to do data analyzes.

The Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse team aims to build next generation cloud data architecture and prepare for how machine learning and AI can support Gard.

Tasks and responsibilities:

• Design Business Intelligence reports in Power BI
• Create, update and manage datasets, apps and deployment pipelines in the Fabric ecosystem
• Co-admin for Gard’s Power BI cloud tenant
• Assist Superusers, projects and initiatives with business intelligence support and best practices
• Responsible for continuously improving business analytics processes and data-streams
• Work closely with our Data and DevOps Engineers, infrastructure and analytic teams

You have:

• A degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field. Recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.
• Ability to become a business expert on marine insurance products, services, and processes
• Motivated to become a data expert both on the data warehouse and other data models
• Proficient with Power BI or equivalent visualization tools
• Proficient in SQL
• Familiarity with coding such as R, Python, DAX or equivalent
• Working knowledge of Azure SQL server, Snowflake or Synapse
• Familiarity with Azure and cloud-based resources and tools
• Understanding of agile methodology and CI/CD
• Good communication in both written and spoken English
• Collaborative, analytical, business-oriented with a pragmatic mindset
• Patient, people-focused and service‐minded
• A reputation as a good team player
