Project engineer

As a Project Engineer in Hydro, you will develop the aluminium production technology of the future. The projects we work on span from improvement of our existing technologies to development of groundbreaking new processes such as HalZero and carbon capture and storage (CCS).

The position will be part of New Technology, a department in Technology and Operational Support (TOS), comprising of colleagues in Oslo, Porsgrunn, Neuss (Germany), and Årdal. TOS is responsible for development, implementation, and operational support to Hydro's smelters in Norway and abroad. Årdal is also home to TOS' Reference center, Hydro's test facility for full-scale testing and development of electrolysis technology.

The TOS unit is a highly skilled organization in Hydro with around 200 employees connected to our technology hubs in Norway and Germany, representing a wide range of technical expertise.

The position is primarily located in Årdal, with possibilities to work from Oslo or Porsgrunn.

We offer
As a Project Engineer in the CCS-team you will be part of a world class technology department and join an enthusiastic team of both experienced and new employees. You will get challenging tasks from day one with early responsibilities within cutting edge projects.

The field of CCS is rapidly evolving, both in Hydro and globally, and it is one of three pillars in Hydro's strategy to reduce our carbon footprint. We are now in the early phases of developing technology and planning projects and the activities will expand quickly over the next few years.

We are searching for a person who is motivated by this challenge and is looking to contribute to shaping the path forward. If you have recently graduated, you will be enrolled into our graduate program. The purpose of our graduate program is to equip you with the competencies needed to successfully thrive in the position and build a longer-term career in Hydro.

The level of responsibility of the position will be adjusted to match the candidates experience and background.

Some travel to Hydro's other locations in Norway and abroad must be expected.
