PhD Research Fellow
The PET Imaging Center at University Hospital North Norway (UNN) has a vacant full-time Ph.D. position for the research project “Automatic detection and quantification of cerebral stenosis and aneurysms as an aid in radiological assessment.” The Ph.D. position is for a fixed term of three years. Admission to the Ph.D. program at UiT The Arctic University of Norway is a prerequisite for employment.
The project’s main objective is to develop a software tool for detecting intracranial aneurysms and stenosis in magnetic resonance (MR) images to assist in the radiological assessment of these pathologies. The software will build upon an existing deep-learning python code for segmenting the cerebral arteries and measuring the diameter along each arterial segment. We have a dataset of 1800 MR examinations available for testing and development of the algorithm.
The position is affiliated with the Nuclear Medicine and Radiation Biology Research Group at UiT The Arctic University of Norway.
