Claims Executive/Senior Claims Executive- People Claims

We are looking for a Claims Executive/Senior Claims Executive in our People Claims team in Arendal.

Providing best-in-class claims handling service is central to what we do, and to succeed we need to have the best colleagues. We are now looking for a further Claims Executive/Senior Claims Executive to join our People Claims team based in Arendal, Norway.

The People Claims team handles all types of claims involving people worldwide, whether that be seafarers, or passengers, stevedores, stowaways, or others. People claims account for a significant percentage of Gard’s total exposure and vary considerably in complexity. As claims are frequent, handlers have much interaction with customers.

As a Claims Executive/Senior Claims Executive in People claims, you will have a diverse case load, work with a high degree of autonomy and be a member of a specialized People claims team. With a proactive and people focused mindset you will work closely with shipowners, crew managers, experts, and other parties to evaluate, negotiate, and settle liability claims. An important part of the role is also to assist customers and colleagues with loss prevention advice and other queries, as well as always looking for ways to improve our ways of working.

• Higher education, preferably at a Master level within relevant subjects. Legal experience beneficial but not necessary

• Experience from crew management/agency and/or onboard ship is of interest whilst experience with handling P&I claims and/or other People related claims may be an advantage

• Solution-oriented team player, with a curious and proactive attitude towards problem solving, learning, and sharing knowledge

• Motivated to work independently in a structured manner, also with time sensitive and urgent matters, while being able to build and maintain strong working relationships with both colleagues and clients

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written and spoken English
