Senior Engineer - SAS Engineering and Upgrade

As a Senior Engineer with us, you will work in a team with highly skilled engineers, project engineers from other professional environments and together with customers.
The responsibility as an engineer is to understand the customer's needs and requirements, and be responsible for the configuration of the automation and safety system (SAS), including human-machine interface (HMI).
The tasks we carry out are mainly related to oil and gas installations on the Norwegian continental shelf where we carry out maintenance, upgrades, optimization and expansions. You will typically follow a single project from the design phase to testing in the lab and on the shipyard, and on to installation and completion offshore. This means opportunities for travel to various locations both on land and offshore.

The work tool is KM's self-developed automation system AIM or the newer Kongsberg Control System (KCS). The programming itself in AIM and KCS is module-based. As these are KM specific programs/tools, there is no requirement for you to be familiar with them. Necessary training and courses are offered after employment.

Key accountabilities

• Software engineering and production of AIM/ KCS applications
• Production, commissioning, and installation for various projects, from large builds to smaller modification projects
• Participate in various tests (e.g. workshop test and technical preparation onsite) and verification of deliveries in accordance to plans and procedures
• Technical system integrator of KM delivery (acquired as a Senior Engineer)
• Preparation of technical documentation, functional specifications, and test procedures
• Contribute to good team spirit within the projects
  
  

Qualifications and experience

• MSc / BSc / Technical College graduate education within Computer Science, Cybernetics, Automation or Control Systems. (Relevant experience may compensate for some of the education)
• Some knowledge within system disciplines such as:
  • Server setup, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Setup of OSs and SeSs in Cloud environment
  • SQL and PI competence for IMS and AIM HS
  • Windows licence and version control knowledge
  • C/C++ programming and/or Linqpad, Python scripting, etc.
  • Cyber Security competence
  • Network design with NDU and switch segments, VLan and VMWare networks

• Practical, hands-on approach to complex tasks
• Experience and knowledge of Kongsberg Maritimes products are desired, but not a requirement
• Fluent in both English and Norwegian
