Technical Director - Remote & Autonomous

We are now looking for a skilled individual that could fill the role Technical Director, within the Remote & Autonomous (R&A) business unit at Kongsberg Maritime. We are looking for you who are motivated to drive forward a new emerging area and have a strong technical background.

In this role you will be the technical owner and responsible for the autonomy service layer, based on our defined reference architecture, and will be assigned to lead a highly skilled technical team across functions. It is expected that you bring people skills and a deep experience with industrial product development. We believe the right candidate has a strong collaborative mindset, acts as an integrator inside the organization as well as towards external stakeholders.

Key accountabilities

• Technical owner for the R&A Integrated Technical Solution
• Owner of the Autonomy service layer
• Leads the R&A technical core team, based on the step by step plan
• Understand and adhere to the R&A reference architecture, and its architectural principles
• Guide and direct the sales and delivery structure on technical alternatives, with the focus on standardization, reuse and simplification
• Executing in accordance with the strategy and business plan
• Ensuring adherence and improvements to our Business Management System
• Some travelling is required

Qualifications and experience

• Knowledge and experience in development and integration of complex software systems
• Strong collaborative mindset. Acts as an integrator in the organization.
• Relevant education and experience (Masters degree or relevant)
• Effective written and oral communication. Fluent in English, in addition Swedish or Norwegian language skills are appreciated.
