Job Description:

As an Electronic Technician at ICONIC you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of electronic systems and equipment used in oil and gas industry. You will be responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of electronic components, including sensors, control systems, communication networks, and downhole instrumentation.

Duties and responsibilities

Day-to-day tasks will involve:

  • Install, calibrate, and maintain electronic systems and equipment used in the oil and gas industry, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to identify potential issues and ensure optimal performance and reliability of electronic systems.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose faults or malfunctions in electronic equipment, utilizing various diagnostic tools, testing instruments, and software applications.
  • Perform repairs and component-level troubleshooting to resolve issues in a timely manner, minimizing downtime and production disruptions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, technicians, and operators, to support system integration, upgrades, and modifications.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of new electronic systems or modifications to existing systems, ensuring compatibility and functionality.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and repairs, utilizing computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to electronic systems in the oil and gas industry.

 

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or equivalent certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Electronic Technician, preferably within the oil and gas industry or a similar industrial setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of electronic systems, instrumentation, and control systems commonly used in the oil and gas sector.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific standards and regulations, such as API, ANSI, NEC, and IEC.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex electronic systems effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and effectively convey technical information.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
