Job description

To expand our bioinformatics team focused on NGS and personalized cancer immunotherapy, we seek an enthusiastic and skilled Bioinformatics Engineer, proficient in Python.

Join us in fighting cancer with personalised immunotherapy!

As a Bioinformatics Engineer, you will:

  • Develop, improve, and maintain Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data processing pipelines
  • Maintain, improve, and re-design unit/integration/regression testing framework
  • Maintain, improve, and re-design automated frameworks for software performance, evaluation, and reporting
  • Refactor existing source code with a focus on optimization and modularization/atomization
  • Automate the update and versioning of bioinformatics and genomic sequence reference data
  • Document in a formalized manner the code developed
  • Collaborate with multiple internal interdisciplinary teams

You have:

  • Knowledge of programming languages like Python
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Nextflow
  • Experience building robust, validated NGS pipelines
  • Proficiency in Unix and bash scripting
  • A degree of higher education in engineering, computer science, or other technical field
  • A master's degree in bioinformatics or equivalent studies or extensive similar experience
  • Proficiency in using standard software management tools (git etc).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. 
  • The ability to work individually and with others of the same or different scientific and technological backgrounds. 
  • Located in Oslo, Norway (we work hybrid, some days in the office are expected, and some days remote is possible)

Bonus:

  • Experience in container technologies (Docker, Singularity)
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (GCP)
