Heavy lift vessel and barge operations

From its headquarters in Grimstad, J.J. Ugland Companies (JJUC) operate a global business. JJUC commercially and technically operate a fleet of 35 units, including bulk carriers, PSVs, barges, and one crane vessel. A/S Uglands Rederi is the parent company of the shipping business and is also established in Stavanger and Canada through subsidiaries. A.S Nymo, a full service EPC yard with a primary market in offshore production, is also included in JJUC. JJUC employ around 1100 people and have an annual turnover of approximately NOK 1.5 billion. The companies within JJUC have a sound financial foundation that enables further expansion.

For our Stavanger office, Ugland Construction AS, we are looking for:

Project Engineer - Lifting and Marine Operations

Main duties and responsibilities

Produce engineering documentation, procurement and subcontract follow up

Prepare and review procedures and method statements for heavy lift vessel operations and barge transports.

Planning and support for ballast operations and load outs for barge projects

Project management

Assist in tendering and commercial work

Support projects on site and on vessels

Provide professional advice and support for marine operations

Build and maintain relationships with clients and suppliers

Coordinate towards main supplier for barge preparations

Represent the company at site during on/off-hire surveys, suitability surveys, port state control, and Class inspection.

Domestic and international traveling must be expected.

Preferred qualifications and skills

Relevant work experience with particular focus on load-out, marine transport and heavy lift operations.

Education as mechanical engineer bachelor's level, or equivalent such as maritime Chief Engineer.

Knowledge of, or ability to learn, CAD software.

Comfortable using and learning new digital tools.
