We are looking for an experienced Satellite AIT (Assembly, Integration and Testing) EGSE Simulator Engineer to join our team. As an Satellite AIT EGSE Simulator Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining simulation software for aerospace systems. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining test procedures, test automation, and data analysis tools. The ideal candidate should have experience with mission planning, as well as proficiency in Python and/or C++ programming languages and knowledge of aerospace systems engineering.

Knowledge within satellite systems is highly wanted, but the position also gives exciting opportunities for candidates with the right backgrounds to gain valuable experience within the field of space and surveillance in one of Norways largest space companies.

Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and maintain simulation software for aerospace systems
Develop and maintain test procedures, test automation, and data analysis tools
Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure that the simulation software meets the required specifications
Provide technical expertise to support the integration, test, and verification of spacecraft systems
Develop and maintain documentation for simulation software, test procedures, and data analysis tools
Participate in software design reviews and provide feedback on software architecture and design
Understand and implement mission planning requirements
Perform system-level testing and analysis of spacecraft systems

The SmallSat program designs and develops several microsatellite (50-250 kg) constellations, integrating several highly advanced payloads and capabilities, to provide national and international customers with satellite-based maritime surveillance and communication services. The team develops the satellites, the payloads, performs the production, assembly, integration and full-scale testing, develops the ground segment, the mission planning, conducts the launch campaigns and coordinates the satellite operations.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
At least 3 years of experience in software development and simulation for aerospace systems
Proficiency in Python and/or C++ programming languages as well as scripting languages
Experience in software development for EGSE (Electrical Ground Support Equipment) and AIT (Assembly, Integration, and Test)
Fault finding skills down to board and component level
Knowledge of satellite standard interfaces such as CAN bus, SpaceWire, RS232/422, etc.
Understanding of aerospace systems engineering and related standards (e.g., ECSS-E-ST-10-03C)
Familiarity with software development tools and practices (e.g., Git, Agile methodology)
Experience with mission planning for spacecraft systems
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work on schedule
