Job Description
Sustainability is at the core of what we do and what we stand for. Proactively meeting the continuously evolving standards for sustainable development in all parts of the organization and projects is central to our success. Therefore we are looking for a Senior Advisor – Sustainability Development to join our Sustainability team in the Business Area Nordics. The team is newly established and is responsible for providing sustainability support and advise advice to the Nordics asset portfolio and to ensure collaboration across the business area and with group functions.
Our primary sustainability topics are related to climate, biodiversity, circular economy, social impact and human rights.
You have a passion for developing the sustainability agenda for renewable energy projects and a keen interest in helping to set standards within the green transition. Your key responsibilities will be:
- Develop and implement sustainability strategies and plans for projects in line with our corporate sustainability policy.
- Provide expert advice, guidance and training to project teams on sustainability matters throughout project decision gates and the project lifecycle.
- Conduct sustainability risk and impact assessments, capture best practices and identify opportunities for enhancing sustainability performance in projects and asset portfolio.
- Ensure compliance with relevant sustainability standards, regulations and guidelines.
- Ensure and support sustainable procurement strategies for projects.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance our reputation as a sustainability leader.
- Contribute to the reporting and communication of sustainability performance by preparing data, reports, and case studies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social sciences, sustainability, climate management, biodiversity or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a commercial organization
- A good understanding of the sustainability agenda in the renewable sector in the Nordic region.
- Good knowledge of sustainability frameworks such as the IFC performance standards and UN Global Compact and OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement sustainability programs and initiatives.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and networking skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and preferably good command of Norwegian or another Scandinavian language.

Statkraft manages critical infrastructure and services in several countries. The applicant must be eligible for security clearance and authorisation and background checks will be conducted before hire.
