Huset Restaurant seeks Sous chef, First Chef and Chefs

Are you ready to join a thriving team, aiming to create and offer something truly unique? Huset Restaurant is located in Longyearbyen on Svalbard and has a long history of excellence. Our unique venue is already well known for its historical significance and has served as a social spot for locals and visitors alike. Our wine collection dates back from 1986, and comprises one of the largest selections in Scandinavia, offering more than 1.000 different titles and 15.031 bottles.

Under the leadership of our Head Chef you’ll help pushing the boundaries of what is possible, sourcing local arctic ingredients to inspire new creations. Given our unique location, some of these creations are quite exclusive and only available here on Svalbard. For additional context, we collaborate with local hunters and fishermen, work on setting up our own green room involving hydroponics, a chocolateries is being planned and we are also in the process of developing our own and locally produced plates, cutlery and utensils.

At present, our kitchen is growing and we’re looking to fill the following roles:

  • Sous chef
  • First Chef
  • Chefs

We take pride in our work and are seeking the right individual. You have a strong passion for your craft, minimum 3-5+ years of experience and master the basics. In addition, you view your role as an integral and important part of the team and appreciate what it takes to create extraordinary culinary experiences.

The right person is curious, takes an interest in hunting and fishing, has high standards, sees the value of being part of a sustainable operation and appreciates the unique opportunities our location inspires.

We offer something special. All around us, nature awaits. In winter, this is a frozen paradise with plenty of opportunities to experience the beautiful landscapes of Svalbard and the Arctic. In summer, wildlife is intense and abundant. This is a world of contrast.
