ABOUT US 

Zivid, a Norwegian scale-up leading the industry in 3D sensor technology for a new wave of robotics applications, is seeking a skilled and versatile Computer Vision Engineer. This position is open to both highly experienced senior and principal applicants, and junior Engineers, in our cross-functional Vision team. This team is responsible for innovation and feature development on our 3D platform in close collaboration camera and software Engineering teams. 


JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Vision Engineer you will work on everything from improving the core algorithms, to coming up with practical solutions for our customers’ applications. This includes, for instance, robot and vision system calibration, processing and analysis of point clouds, and ensuring high quality 2D color and 3D data. You will work in an agile team that handles short-term and long-term R&D projects. 

This position will allow you to work with highly skilled colleagues on complex and unsolved problems. Together, we will innovate in 3D and create new solutions to previously unsolved problems in machine vision. You will immediately get to contribute to the core technology of Zivid.   

You will be working mainly with Python, C++, and GPU development of our compute pipeline. The compute pipeline handles decoding of patterns, 3D reconstruction, filtering, and several point cloud and calibration features. It is expected that you can take ownership of issues, exploring creative solutions and driving research activities. You will bring an idea all the way to the customer through design, implementation, and testing. 

 

WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

  • M. Sc. or Ph. D. in Computer Vision, Computer Science, Physics, Signal Processing or similar 
  • Experience with Computer Vision, but we also encourage talented candidates to apply  
  • Good theoretical skills and a solid background in mathematics and statistics   
  • Solid experience in Python and/or C++  
  • Excellent communication skills, structured and solution-oriented   
  • Experience with agile methodologies and testing is a plus   
  • Attention to quality and process improvements   
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills   
  • Experience with GPU frameworks, for example, Halide, OpenCL, or CUDA, is a big plus   
  • Experience with calibration and signal processing is an advantage   
  • Experience with software packages such as OpenCV, Open3D, and Point Cloud Library is a plus
