Drilling Controls Engineer, Software Engineer, Stavanger

As our new Control System Engineer, you will be responsible for PLC based programming of Drilling Equipment. You will be part of a NOV team delivering high end equipment used worldwide in exploration and production drilling. To maintain our leading position, we are constantly looking for new innovative solutions to improve our equipment and related control systems. We work with industry standard technologies and tools. Machine control and automation systems will be important topics.

We need to strengthen our team and are looking for a candidate with a great interest in PLC programming, a candidate that wants to contribute and make a difference. Whether you have acquired your skills through university or have relevant experience, you can contribute to NOV’s technology adventure.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop, maintain, and deliver PLC based machine control software
• Adapt machine control software to new technical requirements
• Contribute to deliver new or upgraded machine control software
• Document, test and verify new software
• Support site personnel during installation and commissioning

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Preferred skills for Controls, Automation, Data, Science, Software Engineering
• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience
• Master’s degree

EXPERIENCE:

• Design, development, or maintenance of Machine Control Software
• Installation and commissioning
• New graduates will be considered without experience

SKILLS, TRAINING, OR SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE: 

• Good English skills, both verbal and written
• Positive and committed
