We are looking for a Chartering Broker to join our team either in Bergen or Hamburg.

Main responsibilities:

• Market overview including new opportunities, client developments, terms, conditions and rates.
• Responsible for portfolio of clients within the short-sea bulk and project market, including financial results, target setting and performance reporting.
• Prepare, submit, and follow up long-term contract offers.
• Negotiate contracts and shipping terms with brokers and charterers.
• Negotiate port charges with agents in the relevant ports.
• Report to the Chartering Manager and to the person responsible for positioning the fleet.
• Provide Operations with the necessary information so that the concluded freight agreement can be carried out satisfactorily and in compliance with agreed working practice in all relevant systems.
• Contribute to the strategic development of Peak Group’s shipping companies.

Qualifications:

• Minimum BSc or equivalent within maritime studies.
• Relevant experience may compensate for lack of formal education.
• Work experience of minimum 3-5 years within the bulk/project cargo segments.
• Commercial experience within the shipping industry.
