Job Description

Statkraft is ramping up its Wind Offshore ambitions to develop and build 3GW by 2030. Building on our activities in Europe, we are currently strengthening the organization to pursue local and global opportunities. Offshore Wind foundations, marine services, cables and other equipment or services are a business-critical category for Statkraft and all sourcing related activities in this market must be optimised to ensure our competitive edge.

As our category manager, you will influence the development of Sustainability and Value creation in all critical procurement activities. You will build synergies with Statkraft’s sustainable supply chain, strategy, modelling, cost of energy, project ownership and technical teams. The category manager will draw upon their experience and industry network to raise drive the adoption of new technologies, develop local supply chains and implement lessons learned in projects and with suppliers.

The role requires a global perspective, and an advance strategic and commercial mindset in order to support the company’s international growth strategy.

Statkraft Group Procurement is responsible for procurement processes, systems, methods, and a sustainable and responsible supply chain. The department is also responsible for execution of procurement in large projects and category management in OPEX and CAPEX. The department consists of more than 80 experienced and highly competent procurement specialists.

Your role is to

  • Develop and implement category strategies for Offshore Wind related primary equipment, and services, including (but not limited to) responsibility for foundations (bottom-fix and floating), marine services, cables, and other major components procurement.
  • Prequalify new suppliers and assess sustainability risks and implement mitigation strategies for key technologies and markets, as well as develop new suppliers (particularly locally)
  • Develop and share expert knowledge of respective product innovations.
  • Manage strategic supplier relations, key performance indicators, as well as commercial leveraging across regional procurement teams.
  • Monitor, analyse and forecast the various supply markets in order to anticipate changes and prepare implementation with a 2-3-year timescale.
  • Secure consistency of costing information across projects, technologies and regions.
  • Assume responsibility for sustainability goals relating to the supply chain and strategic suppliers.
  • Contribute to establishing best practices category management methodology.
  • Reporting category progress and results against commercial and sustainability objectives.
  • Contribute to Project specific requirements, contributing with the overall category perspective guiding and leading main actions towards the project and contracting strategies.

Qualifications

Personal Abilities

  • Strategic and commercial mindset, and proven track record of developing and implementing strategic initiatives.
  • Minimum degree level education in related discipline to business / engineering / renewables.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal and relationship skills.
  • Stakeholder management experienced to successfully engaged with internal Asset Owners and other departments as Project Delivery, Engineering, Technology and Quality, HSSE, etc.
  • Advanced analytical skills.
  • Customer orientation towards internal organizational units. 
  • Strong change management skills.
  • Excellent communication, listening and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement and follow-up of deliveries.
  • Willingness to travel

Competence requirements

  • Demonstrable experience of at least 7 years from working with Category Management, supply chain management or Project Management, with a strong preference for the energy segment, especially in Wind Offshore or O&G  
  • Experience from working in an international, complex, and evolving environment
  • An excellent communicator with fluency in English, both written and spoken. Additional languages are an advantage.
  • Strong understanding and ambassadorship of sustainability, HSE principles and company culture.
  • Experience identifying and managing risks by type of supplier, technology, geography, ESG topics, and Investor requirements.
