R&D Engineer - Mechanical

R. STAHL TRANBERG AS is looking for a structured and experienced mechanical engineer for the R&D department. In this role, you will be involved in the portfolio of the Tranberg brand products. You will be part of a team of developers working with new product design and maintenance of existing portfolio.

From the R&D team you will be working towards the Marine, Oil & Gas and Aviation segments with our broad product portfolio.

Key responsibilities:

• Project management
• Product documentation
• Testing and assessment of products
• Product line responsible
• Discipline Lead, Mechanical

Key Tasks:

• Mechanical product design and construction
• Materials selection
• Evaluate production methods
• Ensuring product and system compliance to relevant standards
• Coordinate and support multi discipline projects
• Co-operate with market and clients for optimal solutions
• Prepare production / assembly lines
• Product maintenance
• Participate in supplier evaluations
• Prototype design / manufacturing
• Calculations and simulations 

Formal education:

• + 3 years technical education, primarily within mechanical disciplines

 Experience:

• Experience with product and system development
• Experience with standards assessment and implementation
• Familiar with the relevant European and International approval systems as ATEX, IECEx, CSA, UL, DNV and others is considered an advantage
• Knowledge and experience with ERP systems
• Knowledge of Agile project management considered a strong plus
• LEAN and structured work processes
• CAD – AutoCAD, Solidworks
