Our office at Stord is now looking for a candidate to fill position: Discipline Lead Material Technology.
What will you be doing?
- Leadership of the discipline in the project
- Make sure that the discipline deliverables are issued in right time and with the correct quality
- To perform review of requirements and technical review regarding new tender and / or new contract
- Participate in the initial phase of the projec regarding material selection, assembly and welding
- Be updated on MTO (material qualities and quantities) on structural and piping, from the start and continuosly
- Maintain contact with the production departments, including participation in production meetings, conduct necessary familiarization and assist in material and welding technical questions
- Responsible for the mechanical testing in Stord Yard's test laboratories such as corrosion testing, hardness testing, bend testing and macro / micro evaluation
- Establish and maintain close contact with research institutes and technology development within material and welding technology
- Participate in exploring the department's development plan
Work location is Stord Yard, occasional travel assignments may apply.
We think you should have:
- Relevant master / bachelor (e.g. process, chemical, material)
- 5-10 Year's experience as a material engineer
- Familiar and experienced within the Norsok standards for material and welding
- Work closely in team and with an ability to work independently
- Ability to lead and function within a team across multiple projects
- Work innovative, systematically, and solution-oriented
- Fluent Norwegian and English, oral and written
