Contract Manager

NEL Hydrogen is searching for an experienced Contract Manager within the Contracts & Procurement department to serve the growing portfolio of Projects. You will collaborate with a team of highly experienced colleagues and engage in large-scale projects globally.

Main responsibilities and tasks

  • Responsible for providing front-end commercial and contractual tender support
  • Responsible for conducting contract Management of large projects globally with a commercial and contractual responsibility
  • Organize and lead project stakeholders for contractual matters to obtain relevant information
  • Participate in different project & tender teams with broad exposure throughout all project phases; from early contract strategy; supplier marked analysis, supplier prequalification to managing the tendering process, contract negotiations and follow up of contracts & projects
  • Drive alignment with sales representatives, and customers on both Contracts and business matters; implement industry best practices as applicable
  • Establish and implementation of best practice ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) routines for our Project Supply Chain
  • Proactively provide advice on the project specific contractual procedures, specifically regarding claims, variations, correspondence, notification etc.
  • Ensure contract obligations are known and followed by the project team
  • Manage Variation Orders (VOR/VO), disputes and claims
  • Liaise with Legal department regarding all legal matters and potential legal issues in the projects
  • Support project purchasing with the establishment and negotiation of complex subcontracts and strategic procurements during project execution

    Qualifications and experience

    • Higher education within business administration or law, preferably at Master’s level
    • Minimum 7 years’ experience with contract management with a strong emphasis on equipment delivery projects, preferably from an in-house environment
    • Thorough understanding of contract and procurement strategies, complex agreements, negotiations and contract formation, performance issues and contract closeouts
    • Must have a sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast-paced environment while producing results and maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
    • Highly proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
    • Fluency in English is required, Norwegian and/or other languages is an advantage
    • Willingness to work across geographies and time zones
