Senior Tax Manager

Do you want to work with international taxation in one of Norway's most international companies?
If so, Jotun seeks to strengthen its Group Tax function with an experienced Senior Tax Manager to provide proactive advice and compliance support for all group entities. The candidate will primarily focus on corporate tax and transfer pricing, but also have an awareness of withholding tax and indirect tax matters. This is a key and visible role within the Group Finance organisation.


The Senior Group Tax Manager position will be based in Jotun's head office in Sandefjord and report to the Vice President Group Tax.


Job Description

  • Maintain and enhance global tax policies and processes to maintain a strong control and governance environment within the organization
  • Monitor tax operations to ensure that the entities adhere to our tax policies
  • Communicate goals, risks and priorities to senior management
  • Drive and implement changes required as a result of legislative and regulatory changes
  • Support indirect tax compliance obligations in the territories that Jotun operates
  • Develop a strong working relationship with the business-, and finance leadership across the organization and act as a key point of contact and support for our local and regional taxation matters
  • Initiate and perform transfer pricing reviews of defined transaction categories and secure implementation of any changes
  • Review tax filings for completeness and accuracy and identify and document uncertain tax positions affecting the Group's tax provision
  • Manage tax audits and disputes with tax authorities
  • Engage and follow up with external advisors when required



What we look for

Formal Qualifications
  • Law or finance graduate with professional qualifications from university or similar institution
  • Minimum 5 years of international tax experience from a top-tier advisory firm, a multinational group and/or tax administration
  • Good understanding of internal control
  • Experience in accounting, controlling and consolidation is preferred
  • Good business understanding
  • Strong knowledge of international tax concepts and laws, both within indirect and direct taxes
  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word and experience using data analysis tools such as PowerBI
Personal Qualities
  • Fluent in Norwegian and English, written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • High social and intercultural competence
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and exercise sound judgement
  • Skilled at networking as well as building and using own network to achieve objectives
  • Proactive ability to identify and initiate improvement opportunities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and to work under tight deadlines
  • A digital mindset and interest in process digitalization are considered a plus
  • Willingness to travel
  • Positive mind and good humor
