To meet an exciting future, we are seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to develop marine robotics for the future. Kongsberg Sensors and Robotics develop and manufacture complete Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV) systems, integrated with a huge range of sensors and related control systems. Equipped with advanced control systems and sensors our vehicles can operate alone for days at a time, gathering information about the seafloor and underwater infrastructure. Our products HUGIN and HUGIN Superior are recognized as the most successful and capable AUVs available today, and our customer are within defense, commercial and research.

You will be part of a dedicated team of R&D engineers that is responsible for all electronics within the vehicle and the top side system. In your daily work you will contribute in multidisciplinary project teams, and be involved in the whole product value chain; from requirement & concept phase, to turn key ready systems, as well as participate in iterative design improvements to existing vehicles.

Our department have a dedicated development lab, test facilities, and ships to conduct experimental testing, and verifications of complete system deliveries to our customers. While making deliveries in a hectic environment, you will also be encouraged to experimenting and exploring new possibilities.  

Applications will be evaluated on an ongoing basis

Key accountabilities

  • Development of electronics for new products and maintenance of the current product portfolio
  • Specifications and system schematics for products and deliveries
  • Integrate sensors and control systems in a demanding environment
  • Prototyping and testing of design
  • Solve technical problems and work within the hardware domain of our systems
  • Technical product support to the delivery organization

Qualifications and experience

  • A degree within the electronic design domain
  • Work experience in design and engineeringFluency in English and Norwegian, both verbal and in writing
  • Relevant experience within one or more of the following areas:
    • Troubleshooting of hardware systems and CAD tools
    • Design of analogue and digital electronics
    • System integration of sensors, control systems, wire harness
    • Network architecture
    • Power management, motor and servo controllers
    • Familiar with EMI challenges
    • Lithium batteries and BMS systems
