An exciting opportunity as Director People Development has come up!

Our people and our culture are critical enablers to support Kongsberg Maritimes winning business in making a difference and shaping the maritime future. Improving the way our leaders and organization develop and grow, is imperative to our success and this role will lead us in doing so!

The role will work globally and liaise with a broad range of internal stakeholders as well as external partners. Director People Development works with teams and leaders at all levels in the organization, supporting other HR professionals, leaders and teams across the whole of Kongsberg Maritime in developing the organization and its people.

People Development is set up as a separate team within the HR family. The team works globally and across the companys divisions and in close collaboration with the remaining HR team. The People Development team is also responsible for delivering defined leadership courses across the Kongsberg Group.

Director People Development reports to EVP HR & Business Support in Kongsberg Maritime and is a central part of the HR team.

Qualifications and experience

  • Preferably you hold a degree in psychology, organization development or another relevant area and have several years of relevant work experiences 
  • You efficiently translate strategy to actions and have experience in leading and implementing strategic organizational and people development projects
  • Having strong business understanding is key to success in this role, and you need to connect business challenges and needs, to people development activities
  • You are comfortable with presenting to and interacting with small and large audiences mainly in English and you have experience and background as trainer and/or facilitator
  • Experience from other fields within HR is a benefit
  • We expect that you have managed global projects from development to implementation across a matrix organisation and across different cultures.

  • use a methodical and systematic approach in leading, coordinating and planning in a large matrix organization with varied requests and situations
  • plan ahead, define clear priorities and allocate resources effectively
  • demonstrate specialist knowledge and expertise in the area of people and leadership development
  • communicate in a clear, precise, and structured manner
  • collaborate well with others, share knowledge, experience and information and support others in the pursuit of team goals

Work location
The role will be located at one of the companys locations in Norway, but there is not a requirement to be Norwegian. The company head quarter is located in Kongsberg.
