Differ Community Power is a Norwegian venture company that provides distributed renewable energy to off-grid locations in Africa and Asia.

We provide high-quality and reliable energy solutions, our goal is to be a world-leading supplier and operator of off-grid solar installations. We are currently operating more than 100 installations in Malawi, Kenya and in the Philippines – and expanding!

Expanding IT is core for growing our business and create a stellar, unique service. We run our servers on Azure, using Python, mostly serverless, and we are also starting to use Odoo for core business processes.

We have ambitious plans and are looking to start expanding our team with 1-2 backend /full-stack developers.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Design, implement and run our backend code and infrastructure together with our CTO
• Work closely with an innovative, competent and forward-leaning IT-team
• Developing internal and customer-facing management apps

What we are looking for:

• You have a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with backend development
• Solid experience writing production level code and handling data in Python
• Master or Bachelor of Computer Engineering or Data Science
• Or in place of a degree, 5+ years of highly relevant experience.
• You are capable of quickly acquiring new skills and a solid team player.
• Good communication skills in English or Norwegian.

It’s a bonus if you already have

• Experience from DevOps and/or SCADA-systems
