To meet an exciting and sustainable future, we are seeking a Product Manager to create, deliver, and manage marine robotics solutions. With us you will take lead in both developing and managing of new and exciting products and solutions for subsea exploration. 

You will be part of the Marine Robotics department, who create, design, and build autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) and autonomous unmanned surface vessels (USVs) that can explore from the sea surface and down to 6000 meters below. Our vehicles can operate alone for days at a time, gathering information about the seafloor, the water, and objects in the water. We create and integrate advanced sensors for information gathering, maritime navigation, and communication. 

What you will be working on

You will work as a bridge between customers, sales, and engineering teams. You will lead and control product development, improvement, and life cycle of our AUV products. You will support customers by analyzing their needs and issues and suggesting how our products can solve their problems optimally. You will get the autonomy and flexibility you need to create world class AUVs, and you will work in a team and collaborate closely with other product managers, product advisors, and engineers that together manage the full Marine Robotics portfolio in Kongsberg Maritime. You might occasionally join our field operators as well as our customers in the field, assisting with mission, data, and sensor analysis expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full life cycle of our AUV products and solutions, from development to end-of-life
• Serve as a subject matter expert on the product, including key payloads and sensors
• Contribute to product strategy and set product roadmap
• Oversee R&D and product development activities from requirements through validation
• Understand the market, the customers, and the competition
• Translate business requirements to technical requirements

Who are you?

You are self-driven, believe in constantly being able to improve, value transparency, and enjoy working in close collaboration with other people. You can liaise with both internal stakeholders such as R&D, sales, and customer support, as well as external stakeholders such as clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. A background within technical development is beneficial, as well as experience within the maritime domain.

Qualifications

• A university degree or similar within a relevant technical field
• Experience from technical development and/or management in relevant technical field is beneficial. Experience can compensate for a degree.
• Experience from previous product management or project management is beneficial
• Fluent in both spoken and written English
