We are looking for a Product Engineer for our Kristiansand office!

The Product Engineer will design new products and further develop existing products and equipment, ensuring they are top-notch quality. You will take ownership of the products you work with, ensuring that inter-company and external clients gain the correct level of proficiency required to safely deliver a high standard of service and adhere with established operational, maintenance and HSE processes.

This is an onshore position with occasional travel, and it's preferable with someone locally based in Kristiansand.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Product design and development
• Standardization of components and solutions
• Mechanical design/engineering
• Establish bill of materials
• Fabrication & assembly follow up
• Verification & test follow up
• Product documentation

Education and experience requirements

• Bachelor or Master degree within a relevant discipline (Mechanical engineer / product engineer)
• 3+ years relevant experience
• Knowledge of drilling and the offshore industry
• Knowledge of regulations like DNV, ABS is preferred
• Experience in mechanical design
• The ability to work as a multidiscipline team player/leader
• Good computer skills (MS Office, Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault, AutoCAD, SAP etc.)
• Good communication and co-operation skills
• Proficient in English, both oral and written

To succeed in this role, you need to be outgoing, self-driven and proactive. You can work efficiently alone, but also in teams. Presentation is a big part of this role, so you need to be comfortable with talking in groups in different settings and situations, and you have good communications skills. As a person, you are positive, enjoy working with people and are motivated by challenges. We are also looking for someone with a technical curiosity and who adapts easily to different environments.
