Onboarding you to the Company 

At Nexans our global vision is to electrify the future. At our business group “Generation & Transmission” this means designing, engineering, and fabricating the worlds’ best HV cables. It also means having project execution competence, skills as well as assets and resources to install and service those cables. In our Nexans Summer Internship you will be part of a team that learns the Nexans Way at one of our locations; Oslo, Langhus, Sandefjord, Fredrikstad, or Halden.

Our engineering teams enable the company in its ability to plan and execute fabrication, project execution as well as installation activities anywhere in the world. The unique Nexans Summer Internship model will allow you to quickly integrate to a specific department and to be allocated to real-life experiences from day one! 

Getting a flying start 

As a Summer Intern you will fulfill activities and services related to live engineering tasks. You will learn how to perform product research, design, and analysis. You may participate in improvement projects to further enhance in-house products, tools, and programs. You will join our team in live planning and execution of worldwide HV cable projects. 

How you make an impact 

This Summer Internship will allow you to learn and contribute to the Nexans Way -such as our Nexans values, the engineering methodology, our project execution model and the technical standards as well as our quality culture and our safety mindset. You will get an introduction to our Nexans Graduate Program where you could enthusiastically participate in our 12 month in-house workshops and training lectures. As part of the Nexans Graduate Program you will build a strong understanding of Nexans business model, products, and services. 

Your starting point when you join 

You are currently in your penultimate year of Bachelor or Master’s in electrical, renewable, mechanical, marine, subsea, physics, mathematics, materials or geotechnical -engineering. Fluency in Norwegian (preferred) and in English, written and oral. Some experience from working in technical environments is beneficial. You strongly align and identify with Nexans values. 

Our Summer Internship recruitment process
