Roaming Specialist – Advanced Core Services

The Advanced Core Services division in ICE Core & Infra department is responsible for technical delivery of advanced services such as B2B, Messaging (SMS, MMS, VMS), CPA, Anti-spam (AI/ML based) systems, Roaming, Small Cells, (e)SIM, OTA Profiling, Entitlement services, Terminal Verification and Network Testing services. The Advanced Core Services division has a position open for Roaming Specialist with primary focus on Roaming Operations (inc. testing and verification). Place of work shall be ICE Office at Nydalen, Oslo.

Job Responsibilities:

• Build, support and maintain market leading Roaming services and platforms to ensure very high levels of service delivery
• Own & drive customer reported incidents and problem cases until resolution. Problem troubleshooting and trace analysis
• Testing and verification – Voice/data/messaging (IREG tests), Ongoing issues, Regression, New projects/products/services
• Use IR21 documents received from Roaming Partners - Specify, create, track, and implement work orders for Roaming data network changes required for inbound and outbound roaming
• Own and operate roaming tools & systems such as Steering of roaming
• Drive roaming operational performance. Support Revenue Assurance in investigation of roaming fraud
• Work closely with the vendors and partners to ensure fixes are delivered with quality and within SLA
• Participate actively in projects developing new services and functions in relations to Roaming domain
• Participate in applicable on-call duty and calling list routines
• Collaborate closely with internal and external teams to deliver in a coordinated way, aligned with business objectives and organizational processes
• Continue to develop technical and professional expertise through formal learning and experience on diverse components of the overall solution

Desired Qualifications:

• Knowledge and exposure to different switching networks (TCP/IP, UDP), signalling, telecom standards and implementations, functional and end-to-end testing/verification
• Experience on Roaming services (2G/3G/4G) for voice, data, messaging and protocol layers (SIP, Diameter, SS7/MAP)
• Experience with GSMA standard IREG test cases and procedures
• Knowledge of key core elements as MSC/IMS/TAS/VLR/SGSN/MME/HLR/HSS/STP and 5G NSA/SA
• Understanding of Operations Life Cycle Management, Change Management, Service Management and Problem Management principles
• Proactive, structured, team player, customer oriented, and analytical with problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt to frequent change
• Forward leaning having capability to identify and propose/follow new ideas, optimizations, and improvements to conclusion/implementation
• Ambition to grow into new responsibilities that may arise
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
• Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering, specific work experience or longer work experience can substitute for lack of degree
