Onboarding you to the Company 

At Nexans our global vision is to electrify the future. At subsea and land systems this means designing, engineering, and fabricating the worlds’ best cables. It also means having project execution competence and skillset and resources to install and service those cables.   


Welcoming you to the team 

The ES&S – Equipment, Supply & Services - Team is a diverse and multicultural team with 8 team members located in Norway, Belgium, Paris & in the and US. Our team is responsible for managing and coordinating all purchasing related activities respecting Nexans purchasing procedures for four factories and our head offices in Oslo. Workplace is our Halden plant with the possibility to work from Oslo and you will be reporting to the Site Purchasing Manager. 


Getting a flying start 

As part of the Nexans Purchasing Team, and in addition of your daily contacts with your stakeholders from the factory, you will also have regular contacts with your purchasing colleagues from more than 70 countries in the world and the Group purchasing team located in Paris.

How you make an impact 

You will add value by being the leader of the plant competitiveness program. You will also bringing added value by thinking out of the box and by proposing new ways of working. By establishing the purchasing savings budget to reach the factory & the business group savings target. You will also make an impact by taking responsibility for; execution and deployment of purchasing action plans, supporting the definition of the category strategy, and by ensuring the alignment of group practices at your site.  


Your starting point when you join 

• Master’s degree in engineering, Business or Supply Chain 

• 5 years of relevant purchasing experience 

• Fluent in English – oral and written, Norwegian is a plus. 

• Personal values aligned to those of Nexans: Pioneer, Dedicated, United. 

• In this role the likelihood of succeeding will increase if you have a high working capacity and ability to multi-task. 

• As we work with global ERP systems and local purchasing policies it is important to be well structure and having the ability to execute tasks in an orderly and systematic manner. 

• As we work in teams and are driven by project execution being able to communicate and having strong co-operation skills is of upmost importance.
