Position Summary
We are searching for an Assistant Project Support Manager who will dynamically support a range of projects in procuring, managing, and monitoring the support and escort vessel fleet. The role will also be, in part, to manage specific project team goals, requiring hands-on support. The Assistant Project manager will have a variety of challenges and projects to manage simultaneously, which will require a high degree of focus and advanced organizational capabilities.
The Assistant Project Manager will be a key role in promoting consistent use of systems and tools, and will require a shifting balance of skills: organization, communication and problem-solving capabilities, in the support of the Acquisition Projects Department. The position reports to the VP Project Support.
Main Tasks
- Work with VP Acquisition Services to source and manage the pool of chartered vessels in the most efficient configuration to support the seismic fleet
- Manage the Procurement-to-Invoice process for chartered services.
- Hold a key role in the planning and execution of vessel audits.
- Proactively work with project teams in the scoping and sourcing of optimum external resources.
- On a dynamic basis, assist individual PM’s to meet project specific tasks and deliverables.
- Required qualifications
- Maritime knowledge/education (preferably Bridge Officer background and HSEQ competence), and understanding of the running of vessels such as our chartered tonnage.
- Operational experience with offshore seismic operations
Preferred qualifications
- HSEQ knowledge to support the auditing and selection processes.
- In-depth understanding of Operations’ systems and managing content, information and project documentation.
- Ability to develop a strong customer relationship with the owners and operators
- Understanding of the seismic operation and processes to be able to guide the optimum vessel selection criteria
- Strong communications skills, and good written and verbal skills in English.
- Analytical approach to scheduling chartered vessels to provide a best-fit for project demands and project costs.
