Software Engineer till Extenda Retail

We are now looking for a Software Engineer for ExtendaGo, part of Extenda Retail, to deliver retail solutions to the SMB market. You will work with our famous Silent Touch POS-product where you will work closely together with many of our customers in the Nordic region and be an important part of the largest and best environment for retail software solutions.

The position will be organized in the Silent Touch team. The product Silent Touch which is a Point-of-Sale that focuses on supreme functionality through simplicity in use. The team currently consists of 3 local resources and 2 nearshore resources.

Silent Touch is used in different industries and stores like fashion, book, furniture, toys, hardware, “do-it-yourself” and lately also grocery and candy stores. Silent Touch is currently used in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, England, Iceland, Finland and Poland.

Silent Touch is developed in C#.net using WPF and SQL Server.

Work tasks and responsibilities

The Silent Touch POS is making use of Microsoft Technology. The main focus is to further develop the product through new features in the product backlog, and one of the most recent additions is a State-of-the-Art Self Check-out solution that we will continue to refine.

Silent Touch operates with different categories of retail in different countries. It caters for almost any store within specialized trade, and lately also support for grocery stores have been added. An existing product backlog is awaiting to be realized. It includes important features and improvements to extend and enhance Silent Touch, like a complete range of functionality in order to support true Multi-/Omni-Channel and Loyalty, Mobility options and Cloud solutions. These are key to success going forward.

Required skills

Language and communication

• Spoken and written English must be close to fluent, including good understanding
• Ability to write documentation
• Willingness to travel if needed

Tools (min 3 years experience)

• Visual Studio
• SQL Server
• Git or other version control system

It is advantage if you also have experience from using any of the following tools in our stack:

• TeamCity, Jira, Bitbucket, Atlassian stack, Nuget

Required programming skills

• At least 3 years’ experience in object oriented development in C#/.NET
• Experience with SQL Server
• Experience with integrations towards physical devices and online services.

Preferred programming skills

• WPF with MVVM pattern
• Entity Framework
• WCF, JSON, SOAP
• Windows installer / Wix
• Cross-platform development

Required team player skills

• Experience in structuring and preparing for sprints and releases
• Social skills as being part of a team
