We are currently seeking:

HSEQ Superintendent

To support our vision to be Best on Water and support our growth, BW Group is looking for a highly motivated HSEQ Superintendent to join our team. Our top priority is zero harm to people and the environment, while we deliver quality service to our customers. The perfect candidate is enjoying multi-tasking and able prioritize and structure the work in a good way.  

This role will participate in all aspects within the HSEQ Area of responsibility. The main responsibilities for the HSEQ department are:

  • Administrate and maintain the Company’s Safety Management System covering Health, Safety, Environment and Quality in accordance with industry requirements, ISO9001 and ISO14001.
  • Ensure the quality of the Improvement reports and that corrective actions are carried out in accordance with the requirements set by the Company and external bodies.
  • Be a main point of competence for the Company within health, safety, investigation, quality and improvement.
  • Ensure positive development of the Company safety culture and drive improvement initiatives within Health, Safety, Environment and Quality.

The selected candidate will be given responsibilities based on skills and experience which may include the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Perform internal system audits onboard and ashore, follow up and close out assigned reports.
  • Perform incident investigations and root cause analysis for assigned fleet.
  • Responsible for that all procedures/jobs related to Safety regulations including Life Saving and Fire Fighting appliances are updated in the SMS/MMS.
  • Assist in the revision and development of procedures and processes.
  • Support implementation of the Management of Change process.
  • Support manning department with interviews and induction of new senior officers.
  • Log keeper during emergency response mobilization.
  • Participate in HSEQ campaigns.
  • Additional responsibilities can be given based on the candidate’s qualifications.

Qualifications: 

  • Diploma or Degree in Maritime studies.
  • Seagoing experience at least in role as Junior Officer, preferably from tanker operations (Gas/Chem/Oil/Product).
  • Relevant experience from similar position in Maritime or Offshore Industry is an advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of maritime regulatory regime (IMO, Class, Flag), and HSE-requirements specified by OCIMF.
  • Good command of the English language, verbal and written.
  • Hold work and residence permit for Norway.

  • Strong cultural awareness.
  • Structured and well organized, deliver on time.
  • Comfortable with multi-tasking. 
  • Solution orientated.

The position is based in Oslo. Some travelling to the vessels must be expected.
