Graduate Drilling/ Completion Engineer

Location: Sandnes

Job description

The Graduate Completion Engineer is a development position for well engineering, well completions and well operations, and will be part of the Drilling and Wells Department in Neptune.  The role will be given on the job training in planning and design of work related to the future well operations on Neptune Energy assets. The engineer will be based onshore but will also be expected to support offshore operations at the wellsite during execution phase. 

Reports to: Head of Well Engineering

Main duties and responsibilities 

• Provide operations and engineering support to the planning and rig team(s) as assigned.  
• Follow on the job training program for graduate engineers 
• Perform Drilling/Completion Engineering analysis including torque and drag, hydraulics, hole cleaning, anti-collision management, well control,?casing wear analysis, kick tolerance, and casing + tubing design. 
• Assist with development and maintenance of cost estimating, tracking tools and preparation of cost estimates. 
• Participate in and document well and operations risk assessments and DWOPs. 
• Assist with technical specifications and evaluations during the procurement process. 
• Effectively communicate with subsurface and project teams. 
• Contribute to D&W Basis of Design and drilling and well programs and procedures. 
• Evaluate equipment, services, processes and technology to enhance drilling performance. 
• Maintain drilling documentation and data. 
• Maintain benchmarking data and presenting and tracking D&W performance / KPIs. Including flat spot analysis and Rushmore data collection. 
• Prepare analogue well reviews, Final Well Reports, well performance reports, lessons learned reports, well risk registers. 
• Assist with Joint Venture drilling and well support as required. 
• Assist the Lead Drilling or Completions Engineer as required. 
• Familiarisation with NORSOK and Neptune Energy standards. 
• Travel offshore as required. 

Required qualifications and experience

• Master or bachelor's degree within relevant disciplines, recent or spring 2023 
• Experience as a drilling and well engineer preferred, but not a requirement 
• Interest in engineering and well operations. Motivated by continuous learning and acquiring new skills  
• Fluent in English (oral and written) and preferably Norwegian language skills
