Our Supply Chain department for our service base at Ågotnes consists of 34 employees working across a wide range of Supply Chain functions - Material Planning, Procurement, Warehousing and Logistics. Our purchasers have an operational role, and appreciate the close cooperation with projects where they can witness how their decisions are put into action on a daily basis.

We are now looking for a dedicated Purchaser to join our team and help us in our mission to #powerthechange.


What will you be doing?

  • As a purchaser at Ågotnes, you will be purchasing a wide range of services and materials required to support maintenace and installation activites both onshore and offshore
  • The purpose of the purchaser role is to own the procurement process for assigned commodities and services, and optimize the process across cost, time and quality
  • Together with the team, you will be accountable for cost, schedule and quality of all deliverables within assigned categories
  • Managing commercial negotiations and the end-end procurement processes is an important part of the role
  • You will get the opportunity to build, maintain and manage supplier relationships
  • One exciting part of the role is to define new strategies for the assigned categories, also establishing framework agreements when applicable
  • If you like to engage in continuous improvement initiatives across the value chain to reduce cost and improve quality, you will thrive in this role
  • An important part of the role is also to comply to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures
  • Some travel to suppliers abroad may be required. Work location is in our modern facilities in Ågotnes, 30 minutes drive (against traffic) from Bergen


We think you should have:

  • If you have a relevant business or engineering degree, or you are a skilled worker with experience within purchasing, you will be a good fit for this role
  • To succeed in this role, you preferably have some experience as a purchaser within the energy industry or the supply chain world
  • Experience in cost and lead time reduction initiatives, and other business improvements will be appreciated
  • Commercial and financial understanding is key, as you will build and maintain effective and productive relationships with key multidisciplinary stakeholders, and suppliers
  • If you have strong negotiation skills you will get to put these in to use when dealing with suppliers and customers
  • You will need to have strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Nordic and other language skills is considered a plus
  • Good understanding of ERP systems, i.e SAP is an advantage, but you will be given all the tools you need to succeed
