Are you our new Power electronics engineer?

There is a growing need for sustainable heating solutions, and EFD Induction is experiencing an increased demand for our products. We are now looking to welcome two new team members at our research and development department in Skien, Norway.

At present, our R&D department has 16 highly skilled engineers with a wide range of competencies. We seek two new colleagues who are motivated, committed and passionate about power electronics.

The R&D team works in close cooperation with colleagues in our sister companies in Asia, America and Europe. You will participate in developing new industrial heating solutions, using cutting edge technology. In our premises in Skien, you will be close to the entire value chain. 

Responsibilities and tasks

• Develop new solutions and components to be used in EFD Induction’s frequency converters
• Develop cost-effective solutions with focus on quality and high customer value
• Provide expert technical support to other departments and sister companies
• Initiate evaluations and changes to our products to ensure the technology is always up to date

Required education and experience

An MSc in power electronics is required for both positions. We are seeking one experienced colleague with extensive relevant work experience and one more newly educated with less work experience.

Knowledge in most of the following disciplines is preferable:

• Power conversion
• IGBT, SiC, GaN transistor inverters
• Resonant circuits
• Power conversion control methods and implementation
• Electric circuit design and simulations
• Magnetic circuit design

• Hands-on attitude

• Interest in sustainability through efficient product design

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both customers and colleagues

• Excellent Norwegian and English language skills
